Whop key: missing permissions
The Admin role doesn’t include two required permissions: manage webhooks and accept referral requests. Add both, then connect again.
When you click Connect Whop, Payd checks every permission it needs and lists the missing ones by name. Whop’s Admin role leaves out two required ones:
- Developer: manage webhooks
developer:manage_webhook. Payd uses it to set up payment updates, so every payment becomes a Shopify order.- Partner: accept referral requests
partner:referral_request:accept. Required: Payd only works through Whop’s partner program. It lets Payd accept its partner request for your business, and Whop then pays Payd a share of the fees it already charges you (yours don’t change). Only a key the business owner created can accept.
Open your Whop dashboard → Developer → Company API keys and find the Payd key.
Open Whop dashboardEdit the Payd key’s permissions (or, as the business owner, create a new key: Developer → Company API keys → Create API key) and turn on the Developer permission to manage webhooks, the partner permission to accept referral requests if Payd listed it, and anything else Payd listed.
Save. A new key is shown only once: copy it.
In Payd, paste the key (if it’s new) and click Connect Whop again.
Payd couldn’t accept its partner request
- Accept Payd’s request in your Whop business settings (it can also show under Messages → Requests), then click Check again in step 2 of Payd’s setup.
- A business that signed up through Payd’s link is accepted automatically.
- A business that already has another Whop partner can’t use Payd: create a new Whop business through Payd’s link (the Create one link in the Connect Whop step).
