Tax on Payd orders

Shopify can’t calculate tax for an outside checkout. You choose one of three ways, and set Whop to “I’ll handle tax myself”.

Prices include tax
Buyers pay the price they see. Enter your VAT or GST rate so each Shopify order records the tax inside the total.
Flat tax rate
Payd adds one rate (for example your sales tax) to every order, whatever the address, shown as Estimated taxes.
No tax
Payd adds no tax. Only if you don’t need to charge tax on these sales.

In Whop’s tax settings, choose I’ll handle tax myself. With Whop’s other two options, Whop calculates tax again, can charge more than the total your buyer saw, and takes 2% per sale.

You choose in setup step 4 and can change it later in your store’s Settings. Collecting and paying the tax stays your responsibility, as it is on Shopify.
