Carts that go to Shopify checkout
Payd takes the carts it can total exactly. The rest go to Shopify checkout on their own, so no buyer gets stuck.
Payd only takes a cart when it can charge exactly what Shopify would. These go to Shopify checkout instead:
- Carts with a gift card, a subscription, or a bundle an app builds at checkout (a cart transform).
- Carts in another currency than your store’s.
- Any cart whose total Payd can’t match to the cent with your Shopify cart.
- Buyers whose address has no rate Payd can price (for example only carrier-calculated rates): they’re offered Shopify checkout.
What works
- Every discount your Shopify cart shows, at the same amount: automatic discounts (“Buy 2, save $10”), bundle and quantity-break discounts from discount apps, and codes. Payd reads them from your Shopify cart, so Shopify’s own rules decide how they combine.
- Codes typed at Payd’s checkout, checked by Shopify the same way.
- Flat, price-based and weight-based shipping rates, and free shipping codes.
- B2B and market prices your storefront shows.
What doesn’t
- Carrier-calculated shipping rates, and automatic free shipping discounts (Payd uses your shipping rates).
- Apps that add to Shopify’s checkout page don’t run on Payd’s.
Payd reads your cart’s prices with the storefront scopes in its scope line (the ones starting with
unauthenticated_). Connected before they were added? Paste the whole line into a new app version, release it, approve it in Shopify, and click Connect Shopify again.
