Set up a store: the five steps

About 20 minutes for your first store. Every store after that: about 2 minutes. Buyers keep using Shopify checkout until you go live.

You need: your Shopify admin (as the store owner, or staff with the app development permission), a Whop business, and about 20 minutes for your first store. Nothing changes for buyers until step 5. Every store after that takes about 2 minutes (add another store).

  1. Connect Shopify (about 5 minutes): create a small app in your own Shopify admin and paste its Client ID and secret into Payd. Step-by-step.

  2. Connect Whop (about 3 minutes): create one Whop API key, add the webhook and partner permissions, and paste it. Payd becomes your Whop business’s partner. Step-by-step.

  3. Install the checkout line: paste one line into your theme’s footer. It stays off for buyers until you go live. Step-by-step.

  4. Tax and a $1 test order: choose how tax works, then pay a $1 test order with your own card. It is a hold that Payd releases. Step-by-step.

  5. Go live: agree to Payd’s Terms, and buyers start paying through Payd. Pause any time.

Want to look around first? On your stores page choose Create demo store: it simulates Shopify and Whop, and nothing is charged.

Payd works on every Shopify plan. On Basic, Shopify can limit which buyer details an app writes into orders; the $1 test order checks this before you go live.
