Holds, reserves and tracking
Whop has its own risk rules. What they are, and how Payd keeps tracking flowing so money isn’t held longer than needed.
Whop is the processor and has its own risk rules. It can keep a reserve on new accounts, pre-orders or some product types, wait for tracking on physical orders, or hold a payout. Whop’s Seller Terms say when and for how long.
What’s different from Shopify Payments: Whop approves your business for card payments before you go live, so you know where you stand before your first sale, and the money sits in your own Whop account where you can see it.
Tracking
When you add tracking to an order in Shopify, Payd sends it to Whop automatically when it can (the Whop key needs shipment:create). If an order in Payd’s Orders says tracking didn’t sync, add the tracking number to that payment in Whop yourself.
Keep disputes low
Fulfill fast, add tracking, use a store name buyers recognize (card statements read WHOP* followed by your store name), and keep disputes under 1%. Disputes cost $15 each and can trigger reserves.
