Step 1: Connect Shopify
Create an app in your own Shopify admin, release a version with Payd’s settings, install it, and paste the Client ID and secret.
Payd reads your products, prices and shipping from Shopify and writes every paid order back. For that you create a small app in your own store, once.
In your Shopify admin, open Settings → Apps, click Develop apps, then Build apps in Dev Dashboard. Start from your store’s own admin: that puts the app in your store’s organization, which Payd needs.
Open Settings → AppsClick Create app. Under Start from Dev Dashboard, name it Payd checkout and click Create.
Click Create a version and fill in these values:
- App URL
https://usepayd.com/dashboard- Embed app in Shopify admin
- Off. Payd opens in its own tab.
- Webhooks API version
- 2026-10
- Access → Scopes
- The line below. Paste it whole, or pick the same scopes with Select scopes.
- Optional scopes
- Leave empty.
- Use legacy install flow
- Unchecked. Checked, the install can grant no permissions.
write_orders,read_products,read_shipping,read_discounts,read_markets,write_customers,unauthenticated_read_checkouts,unauthenticated_write_checkouts,unauthenticated_read_product_listings
Click Release, add a version name if Shopify asks, and click Release again.
On the app’s page, under Installs, click Install app, pick your store and approve (Shopify lists “View personal data” and “View and edit store data”).
Open the app’s Settings → Credentials and copy the Client ID and the Client secret (click the eye icon to show it).
In Payd, paste your store address, the Client ID and the secret, then click Connect Shopify. Your myshopify address is in Settings → Domains; pasting your admin URL works too. There is no redirect: Payd gets the access token directly.
Open Settings → Domains
Payd then shows what it found: the store, its plan and currency, and any heads-ups (more than one currency, the Basic plan, market-based shipping).
